Idaho Trailheads

Idaho Trailheads specializes in properties around Valley County.  The area's rich history includes historic mining camps in its more remote corners, which held the main population in the 1800's.  The towns of McCall and Cascade served as outposts along the supply lines to the mining camps of Warren, Big Creek and Yellow Pine. 

Farms and ranches were homesteaded in the late 1800's, and the timber industry boomed when the railroad arrived in the early 1900's.  Cabarton, Donnelly and Lakefork grew up as railroad towns.  Tamarack Resort is the county's most recent arrival, located near the town of Donnelly. 

The region has been a sportsman's paradise for a century, with many of its streams, lakes and meadows still extremely remote.  Unlike most wilderness areas, the Frank Church has a few remaining private ranches, accessible by private aircraft.  Backcountry flying puts you within minutes of the fishing, rafting and dude ranches of Idaho's scenic preserves.
